New Activities

Induction of Central PSU

KIOCL Limited has submitted bid to acquire 51% equity in IDCOL which is under active consideration of Government of Odisha. The proposal of KIOCL Limited for reservation of a chromite mine and an iron ore is under process at the government level. KIOCL Limited has expressed its intention of putting an integrated steel plant at Barbil in IKIWL premises for which an iron ore mine of 100 million tons is required.

IDCOL has also undertaken steps for new activities and also for raw material security for the existing operations as given below:

Development of Beach sand project

Action has been initiated for making a Beach Sand Project in joint venture with IREL. MoU has been signed with IREL on 07.02.2015

Operationalisation of Tailangi – B chromite mine in Sukinda valley of Jajpur district

Stage –II clearance from Govt. of India is awaited for making Tailangi-B operational

Technology Development Centre Technology Development Centre has been set up to undertake activities for extraction of metal from low grade chrome ore and improvise the quality of minerals.
Setting up of IT/ESDM /Textile park at Bhubaneswar Action has been initiated for inviting interested parties ot set up IT/ESDM /Textile park at Bhubaneswar for which about 30 acres of land is available.
